2026 Weekly Composition Challenge
In May of 2026, I decided to set a goal for myself: compose/produce at least one minute of music every week. Through this project, I aim to improve my workflow, strengthen my creative habits, better understand the tools at my disposal, and most importantly, to put more music out there!
Here’s what I’ve made so far!
Utilizes Native Instruments Piano Colors and glitchy drum sounds. Completed 5/9/26
My attempt at making a "Succession" theme soundalike. Listen for the sneaky Rachmaninoff quote toward the end :)
Completed 5/17/26
An odd-meter, semi-jazzy solo piano miniature.
Completed 5/22/26
A short percussive idea in 7/4.
Completed 5/24/26
Aggressive, semi-experimental, semi-cinematic electronic music. Completed 6/7/26
Inspired by John Hopkins' "Emerald Rush."
Completed 6/14/26
Limited myself to only using notes from C Major and only using sounds derived from Native Instruments "Piano Colors" VST. Completed 6/21/26
Limiting myself to only using piano or piano-derived/processed sounds.
Completed 6/28/26
Limiting myself to using sounds almost entirely derived from my sister's tongue drum tuned to A Akebono (A, B, C, E, F).
Completed 7/5/26
